“Lord Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.”
2 Samuel 7:27 – King David
When we look to God and receive his heart, we can pray with great confidence and efficacy. Strategic Prayer is the practice of seeking God’s direction over a given situation, and praying those things back to him. As we read above, King David did this when Nathan delivered the promise of God to forever establish his dynasty.
Walking in strategic prayer blends many of the practices that we disciple through Hineni. Abiding, Listening prayer, spiritual warfare, discernment – all of these are part of a team wrestling to apprehend God’s heart for a given situation. As we labor toward that end, we come to astonishing places of truly sitting beside him and taking part in his judgments and decrees.
